If you listen closely you can still hear the echoes of that battle on the wind in the Dale, before the East Gate.
Again the sounds of pipes can be heard at the end of this battle; yet these are tinted with grief, and not the joyous dance of the Second Sacking. This final pipe song after the battle was evermore called “The Misty Mountain Air/Lament of Khazad-dum”
