about

The first Lonely Mountain Band song with a narration in it. I tried to sing the lyrics over many takes, but it just wasn’t happening. I really liked the poem I wrote and didn’t want to remove it from the project. Narrating the poem at the beginning seems to have set the tone for the song. You may recognize some of the notes from the beginning of the song, and this is a nod and dedication to Minstrel Harperella! Far apart, never alone!

lyrics

In ages past the maker
Lay me down in the mountain
Created light within me
The Hands of a King to Daylight bring
Ten Thousand Sparks of Rainbow Light
Tried in the Fire of a Dragons Might
The Heart of the Mountain I remain
The precious stone they famed me

Ten Thousand Sparks of Rainbow Light
Saved at last by the Thief in the Night
On the Heart of the King I remain
The Arkenstone they named me
